All of our Northbound buses travel from New York to Newton, MA, and then on to Cambridge, MA. All of our Southbound buses travel from Cambridge, MA, then to Newton, MA, and then to New York. On average, it takes about 4 hours, 15 minutes for our buses to travel between New York and Newton, MA, and an additional 25 minutes to travel between Newton and Cambridge, MA. Travel times can and will vary due to heavy traffic, accidents, road construction, etc. so our travel times are approximate and are not guaranteed. In particular, passengers traveling on Friday afternoon buses in either direction can expect travel times to be an additional hour or more due to heavy volume.
Each ticketed passenger is allowed to take aboard one carry-on and one personal item, and may place underneath up to two large piece of luggage with a maximum of 50 lbs. Our luggage policy is detailed here: http://www.gobuses.com/gobuses_terms_luggage

Our New York pickup/dropoff location is a bus stop in Midtown Manhattan on West 31st Street between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue. We do share our Midtown stop with another company, so we are sometimes loading closer to 8th Avenue, and at other times we are loading closer to 9th Avenue. But we always pick up on West 31st Street.
Using GPS? Try 320 West 31st Street, New York, NY to get pretty close.
Note that this is not a sheltered stop, so be sure to dress for the weather.
Our Newton, MA location is at the Newton Riverside Bus terminal, located at the end of the Riverside "D" Branch of the MBTA's Green Line subway. This is staffed and sheltered, full-service bus terminal and is our Massachusetts base of operations.
Using GPS? Use 335 Grove Street, Newton, MA to find our terminal.
Our Cambridge, MA location is at Berth #6 of the Alewife Station, which is located at the end of the MBTA's Red Line subway. This is a bus stop only and offers limited shelter from the weather. We normally do not have staff located at our Cambridge stop; most of the time tickets will be checked and transactions will be taken care of when our bus arrives at our Newton stop.
An advance ticket purchase is highly recommended if you are traveling on the weekends, which tend to be our busiest travel times. If you want to take a chance, you can bring cash to the stop of your choice. The dispatcher or the driver will advise you of the current ticket price, and if there is room, you will be allowed to purchase a seat at the time of boarding or whenever passenger tickets are checked.
A ticket purchased on a given date at a particular time guarantees you a seat on that scheduled departure. Provided that there is available space, we are happy to let you use your ticket for that same day on a different schedule. You will be considered a standby passenger and may be asked by a dispatcher to wait until passengers who have tickets for that bus have boarded. Once the dispatcher has confirmed that there is available seating standby passengers will be allowed to board.
